If you’ve been in my world for a while, you’ve probably heard me say many times that the first and most painful form of self abandonment is the repression of the soul.
The repression of your aliveness, your radiance, your gifts, or just simply what uniquely ignites your heart.
This is not even Self abandonment. It goes beyond the Self. It is Soul abandonment.
Over the last few years, I have become extremely sensitive to it.
I can feel in my body when I am repressing some soul inspired ideas.
Usually, my energy gets heavier. I often gain weight. I get more irritable and less patient. Overall, I am just less fun to be around. And last but not least, I feel like I am also more prone to getting sick during these times.
It’s almost as if my spiritual immune system gets less strong.
Can you relate to that?
I started feeling this more intensely especially when I was going through periods of resisting the writing of Scars of Gold.
Like you’ve probably heard me say before, this book wrote me. And sometimes the writing was intense.
It became clear that the purpose of the book was to create a blueprint that would help you disrupt all forms of soul abandonment.
Each chapter in the book is a piece of the “medicine wheel” that helps you reclaim the spiritual and emotional stamina to stop repressing your gifts, your authenticity, your voice, your aliveness.
And of course, that includes journeying through the shadow many times.
That is the intention infused in Scars of Gold.

Disrupting all forms of Soul abandonment in practice
I did not have the language for it yet, but when my private community became the Embodied Light Project in 2023 (which weirdly coincided with signing the book deal for Scars of Gold), after having been the Inner Alchemy Circle since 2020, that realignment was to serve our liberation from Soul abandonment.
I couldn’t fully see it back then but it has become very clear over the years.
If we learn to abandon our light in community, it is necessary to learn how to reclaim it in community too.
It is easy to be radiant in isolation and in the closet. Like a monk on a mountain. But your light gets sharpened, refined, and deepened in community.
That’s why I created The Embodied Light Project. It is the place where we practice and live in real time the teachings and practices you will find in Scars of Gold.
To me ELP carries the frequency of a golden bridge that connects you to your repressed brightness.
And now more than ever before we need bridges in this divided world.
The purpose of the community is to help you get free from the grip of repression, so that you may reclaim the spiritual and emotional stamina to shine more brightly.
I think it’s one of the shifts the world needs most at the moment.
And if you are someone drawn to material like the one I am sharing, I know you have a devotion to being in tune with your soul’s frequency.
Not in a way that bypasses your humanness, but in a way that recognized the sacredness in it.
If this resonates with you, then ELP is the place for you. This place wants to serve your ability to be unleashed in the world.
And quite soon, we will start the Scars of Gold book club in the community. I hope you get to join us.
The doors of the community are open for the fall enrollment. Click HERE to join.
