The first aspect of ourselves we learn to abandon, is not our pain. It is our light.
If you believe that we are spiritual beings having a human experience, then the very fact of being human is a form of abandonment of your light.
You had to “distance” yourself from some of the brightness of your soul in order to incarnate. That was a soul’s decision… and that’s okay!
It was done by design. This is what allows you to experience this world of form that cannot contain your fullness.
That’s precisely the point. The world around you did not know how to contain your fullness.
The experience of having to disown some of your light did not stop there.
It is something that followed you in your formative years.
As a child, maybe some aspects of your inherent brightness did not receive the degree of nurturing you needed.
It didn’t take you long to realize that expressing your brightness and light is not always welcomed with appreciation.
It could’ve been a piece of art you created, innocently expressing your joy, love or dreams as a child or sharing something that felt uniquely beautiful to you with other people… And it was met with ridicule, criticism or it was dismissed… And it hurt more than you could’ve ever anticipated.
You then learned quickly how to repress it. You knew it was a less painful outcome to hide it. You did it quite unconsciously at first and then it became wired into your personality.
Other people around you even convinced you that to be safe is to be hidden. They reinforced that the best way to live is to hide your light in the dark… And a part of you believed.
This is why it is so challenging to undo what looks like self sabotage.
Spiritual inflammation - Repressing your light
If you think repressing your pain is heavy, try repressing your light.
I have shared before that there was a time in my life where I experienced the highest amount of panic attacks when I was attempting to silence how my soul wanted to redirect me towards the work I’m doing now. Can you relate?
Repressing your light creates some sort of phantom pain that feels so familiar that it gets normalized.
Imagine getting in the way of something that is fire-like. Something that moves at a speed that your mind cannot even comprehend. It’s like holding a fire within your cells without allowing it to be expressed. You’d get burned or at the very least endure great cellular damage.
This is what you do when you repress your light. In my opinion, it creates what I like to call a spiritual inflammation. Your psyche gets inflamed. It creates a baseline degree of unease you often normalize.
You can get so good at it that you don’t even realize that it’s happening.
I think we all carry a certain degree of post traumatic stress when it comes to the expression of our brightness. You got hurt in the past when you tried to express it, and now you’ve learned how to mistrust your light.
What that means is that we trust darkness to keep us safe more than we trust light.
I think we go through dark nights of the soul (or dark night of the ego as I prefer) as a way to get out of the unconscious trance where we’ve made an identity of disowning our brightness.
The antidote to spiritual inflammation
I think these times will illuminate everything that stands in the way of the embodiment of your brightness. I often call it a collective purification process.
The fears that cause you to hide, shadow material that hinders your expression or ancient pain coming up to be released. They all want to make room for the integration of your brightness.
I think allowing your light to be expressed and you to be seen in your authenticity, has become a matter of spiritual survival.
Your light wants to be taken out of the dark. It wants to be integrated. These times want you to integrate it.
Integration is the antidote to spiritual inflammation.
We need your gifts fully expressed.
The earth needs your gifts and your light fully expressed.
How do you integrate your light? I think many books could be written about it. Yet here is how I would summarize it.
You meet with an open heart the fears and ancient pain you’ve associated with expressing your brightness of being seen in your authenticity.
You make more room in your life for the expression of what truly brings life to your heart.
I know I make it sound simple. I also know that there is a blueprint to it.
That blueprint is what I encoded in my upcoming 6-week immersion SEEN. We’re going to dive to the core of the shadow to lift the anchors that still cause you to hide, so that you may be unapologetically expressed.
If you know that there is a next edge of expression that you have yet to find a way to embody, SEEN is the journey for you. The early bird discount expires soon. Click this LINK to save your seat.
