There is a feeling I’ve wrestled with for years. I call it the “almost ready” feeling.

It’s as if you’ve reached a point of no return. You know that what you need to do is to leap and embrace radical change, yet you keep holding yourself at that edge.

Every time you come close to the edge, you talk yourself out of it.

It’s a weird emotional mix of anticipation, excitement, fear, and an inner war between the part of you that craves something new, and the ones that won’t let you take another step.

Can you relate?

Just perpetually on the edge of something meaningful, yet you can’t bring yourself to fully embrace it.

Almost ready to share your work.
Almost ready to unleash your authenticity.
Almost ready to step into the next level of what you know you’re here to create.

A recent example, up until two years ago, it was “almost ready to write that book.” And when I embraced the shift I will share with you, the book was published in less than two years.

For many people I work with, this “almost ready zone” has lasted for years. And this can be one of the most excruciating experiences because you are also so close to what you know is possible.

It’s as if you’re constantly getting teased.

When your heart knows but your emotional body pulls away

If you’ve been living in that zone for a while, you may have noticed something subtle.

It’s not just frustration. It’s a kind of emotional fatigue. The energy it takes to unconsciously pull away from what deep down you know you want is huge. It is something that depletes you at the deepest levels.

What’s tricky about this place is that it’s easy to misinterpret it. We can tell ourselves we just need to “get over it” but it rarely works.

Here is what I deeply believe…

We are navigating times where we are collectively invited to no longer create from a place where we feel fragmented.

The reason why I am saying that is because another layer of the “almost ready zone” is inner division we feel. Think of it as being pulled in two or more directions at the same time.

One part of you wants to move forward while other aspects are too scared of what it may cost you.

These unresolved inner conflicts are what often shows up as resistance and self sabotage.

When parts of us are pulling in different directions, momentum naturally stalls. This is not because you aren’t pushing hard enough, but because coherence hasn’t been restored yet.

Pushing harder here only deepens the split. Mending that inner divide, is how you start getting unleashed.

The subtle art of getting unleashed

This is where I want to reframe what unleashing actually means.

Here is something fundamental to understand…

If you desire to get unleashed, you naturally invite to the forefront the parts of you that are afraid of what doing so will expose you to.

That’s a natural process. And your work is to learn how to reconcile with these aspects so that they stop pulling you back.

And when you do, there is a lot of energy that you reclaim. The energy that was once used to unconsciously pull back, is now available to create what you truly desire. This is where integrated forward motion begins.

That’s why I say that getting unleashed often requires many trips in the shadow. It also requires that you align with what you uniquely value, not the expectations others have projected onto you.

This shift made the greatest difference in my ability to be able to write my book and bring to completion many projects that were meaningful to me last year.

It’s not about forcing yourself forward. It’s a byproduct of integration.
