Your body does more than keeping the score — it also holds the blueprint of healing and integration
The somatic revival we all need — especially men.
I’ll assume that you’ve probably come across the saying “the body keeps the score.”
You may have even read the book. And I certainly think this principle is important to fully understand.
I also believe that it is important to not stop there.
Why? Because we can get so obsessed on erasing the emotional memory of the body that in creates a silent war between you and your cells.
It might cause you to completely miss another potent truth that the body carries.
I deeply believe that the body holds the blueprint to healing and integration. It does way more than keeping the score of your emotional injuries.
It doesn’t just remember your pain. It also holds the blueprint for your integration.
This is the powerful truth we explored in my recent conversation with Ryan Rose Evans on the Enheartened podcast.
Ryan’s story is raw and layered. From addiction, disassociation, and the edge of an 8-year prison sentence to becoming a guide for somatic and emotional healing — his path isn’t just inspiring. It’s instructive.
He didn’t find healing in the “next” supplement or detox.
He found it when he slowed down enough to hear what his body had been trying to say all along.
Healing isn’t an idea. It’s an embodied return.
So many of us—especially men—live in constant disconnection. We intellectualize our pain. We override signals. We armor up and march on.
We only want a top-down relationship with the body where it has to be obedient to the head. And that way of being is precisely what has made many of us sick. Because in so doing, the potent wisdom of the body gets dismissed.
In my experience, true healing and liberation only happen when we’re willing to come back down. Back into our bodies, our sensations, our breath. Back into the discomfort we’ve spent years trying to outrun.
Ryan said something in this episode that I found quite potent:
“My chronic fatigue didn’t show up when I was at my worst. It showed up the moment I found safety. It was my body finally saying, ‘Now I can process what’s been stuck.’”
That’s the paradox of healing: it doesn’t always come in light beams or cathartic releases. Sometimes it shows up as grief, as exhaustion, as a rising tide of emotion you can no longer numb with food, substances, performance, or spiritual bypassing.
For men: it’s time to break the repression cycle
Because emotional repression is still one of the most socially sanctioned forms of survival for us.
We are praised for being composed. For staying strong. For keeping it together even when we silently fall apart inside.
But make no mistake… Repression doesn’t protect us. It calcifies. It clogs the channel. It manifests in the body — as rage, anxiety, gut issues, chronic fatigue, isolation.
The invitation: reconciliation over fixing
The body doesn’t need to be “fixed.” It needs to be reconciled with.
It is the temple that has carried everything you’ve survived. It is the quiet witness of your shame, your shutdown, your longing, your grief.
It is also the place where your wholeness is invited to fully live.
Your nervous system isn’t your enemy — it’s your compass.
Your symptoms are not punishments — they’re signals of unmet truth.
This episode is an invitation to reconcile soul, self and cells.

Beautiful 💗
Thank you so much for everything you offer us with such generosity and grace. Especially your wonderful podcast. My face lights up every time i see a new episode is out and each one is deeply enriching and i learn so much from them! Extra validating was this conversation where being human was so normalized. Not having “arrived” and like you said: the level of truth telling! Is not only refreshing and nourishing- it is healing ❤️🩹
I love how he said that you are a poetic soul and had articulated everything i felt about the blessing of your exquisite language 😍
